During our Technical Training Classes we can get a wide range of skill levels in the group. We often have players that can "kill a session" or become a "drill killer." Anytime that's possible to happen, I have a few go to speeches to put those players on notice that they need to do better.
- Reward your teammates for passing you the ball, by keeping possession. It's well documented that Michael Jordan and Lionel Messi have been known to go to rookies or first year players and warn them that they will pass to them once... if you lose the ball, I'm never passing to you again.
- Every player in the group is just as responsible for developing each other as the coach or club is. Take ownership of that. Help each other get better.
- If you're younger than everyone else, prove you belong to be here. If you're older, don't allow anyone younger than you to outwork you.
